Stress Management Strategies and Employee Performance: An Application of Correlational Research Design on Manufacturing Firms in Edo State, Nigeria

This study examined stress management strategies and employee performance in manufacturing firms Edo State. Four research questions four hypotheses guided this research. employed the correlational design covered all State but five of them were randomly picked for their employees totaled into 1,663, which served as study’s population, out 301 sampled using Taro Yamane’s formula. The instrument data collection was a self-structured questionnaire. Out copies administered, only 264 found usable further analysis both descriptive Pearson’s Spearman’s rank correlation statistics to analyze hypotheses. It that receive maximum workplace social support helps deal with stressful work situations; they have high coping competence handling stress. Also, it revealed time most adopted strategy among workers practice extent. In addition, discovered mind-body is by employees, although, not very extent when compared adoption other techniques. More so, results tested there exists statistically significant between outlined employees’ firms. Based on findings, researcher recommended should sensitize understanding benefits interventions such massage, yoga, etc. how make good use reducing levels.
